Thesis proposal and defence PhD students pre-candidacy are required to submit a written thesis proposal, and present and defend the proposal orally. Third Language Requirement Students are required to have the ability to read research materials in a third modern language other than Chinese and English.
To demonstrate their proficiency for this purpose, they must pass a relevant language test set by the Division.
